Completely unrelated…but funny 😀

Kotaku.com has a good article on how a few dollars stopped Red Dead Redemption from being nominated for the Writers Guild Award for its script, Mass Effect too.  I’m leaning to the Guild’s side of this argument.  That’s alot of advertising for $60 but then they got it by snubbing them didn’t they?  Check it out here.

As Valentines Day gets nearer torontosun.com has an amusing look at some sex in video games.  The infamous Custer’s revenge is of course there but there are a few Id never heard of like ‘Playboy: The Mansion’. Check it out here.
From silly to serious Usatoday.com has a good article about the positive effects of girls gamers who game with their parents.  Check it out here.

In a similar vein greatdad.com talks about how playing age appropriate games benefits father-daughter relationships.  Its mostly an opinion piece but I think its good.  Check it out here.

Now I know the X-box users are supposed to be frat boys (or is that PS users, they blur together <I jest, I jest>) but the new title pushes that a bit.  You play Michael Phelps and have to work your way through swimming tournaments to the Olympics.  Fair idea since you don’t have to kick or jug to swim but they want you to do perfect form toe touches to dive.  This just….seems like a bad idea.  A really bad idea.  Pcmag.com did a nice summary of the USA Today article, check it out here.

On the Colbert Report Jane McGonigal spoke of her new book ‘Reality is Broken: Why GamesMakes Us Better and How They Can Change The world.’  Gamerant.com has a great summery and clips for those  who might of missed the original show. Check it out here.

According to usatoday.com Two Worlds is trying to really improve its reception by the gaming community by polishing up its product.  It sounds like alot of hype but if even some of it is true it sure would be a great improvement on the game.  Check it out here.
