This Week in Gaming

“StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty” will be hitting stores on July 27, 2010.

  • (Slashdot:Games) Sony Sued Over PS3 ‘Other OS’ RemovalStoobalou writes “A Californian Playstation 3 user has filed the first class action lawsuit against Sony over removal of the ‘Install Other OS’ function from the Playstation 3. The action seeks to redress Sony’s ‘intentional disablement of the valuable functionalities originally advertised as available with the Sony Playstation 3 video game console.’ The suit claims that the disablement breaches the sales contract between Sony and its customers and constitutes ‘an unfair and deceptive business practice perpetrated on millions of unsuspecting customers.’”

Rumor Mill

Question of the Week

What is your favorite non-mmo game to play online?

From Twitter

  • Llanion – Altitude, a non-massive but definitely online multiplayer 2d plane shooter.
  • Wowdominia – Favorite non-MMOs are Fish Wrangler, Cafe World, Petville, and Treasure Isle.
  • Runycat -  At the moment? Borderlands.
  • GettingWorse – QoTW, at this moment, it’s super street fighter 4. Give me more ranked points!!!!!
  • Ndiayne – hmm, I guess technically LoRD is a sort of mmo. Hmmm… zuma :)
  • NinthBatter – probably still Halo for me, easy to pick up and there’s always a game (although left 4 dead is a close 2nd)
  • Quietambition – Team Fortress 2!!!
  • etni – WebRisk! Still in Beta, only a few playing, but it’s tons of fun! http://www.iohelix.net/webrisk/
  • tig – hands down Day of Defeat:Source on steam

From Forums

  • Achloryn – I would have to say Diablo 2 or Command and Conquer were some of my favorites. I don’t know that I could pick between them (even though I was horrible at playing against others).
As a side note: I think it was Mike mentioned Axis and Allies as his favorite board game on last week’s podcast… Is it even possible to FINISH that game? I loved playing it when I was a kid, but I swear it took even longer to complete than Risk did.
  • Jitterbug – Do console games count? If so, I’d say Call of Duty Modern Warfare (the original, not the 2nd.)
