Because sometimes, you just don’t have time for a full news break.
- (Bungie.net) Bungie is hiring a writing lead, and it might give some idea of the change in direction they’re looking to go with their new partnership with Activision – experience in branching or non-linear experience is a plus. Maybe we’ll see a better narrative than what was at work in the Halo series? We can hope, Polygamerites – we can hope.
- (David Perry) WoW on an iPad? Well, sort of! David Perry has a screenshot of World of Warcraft running on an iPad via Gaikai, which describes itself as a "revolutionary new technology that lets you play any game online in your browser." While I think WoW might still be a little more complex than the virtual-keyboard-and-mouse setup can handle, there’s definitely possibilities at work here. Install once, play anywhere in your house?
- (Destructoid, Ars Technica) Black Wii confirmed for the US! Including (of course) a black Wii, copies of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, a black Wiimote, black protective jacket for the Wiimote, black Wii MotionPlus addon, and presumably a black Nunchuk. Should go nicely with the black Classic Controller Pro, which I will be picking up for myself soon. That’s not all, either – Nintendo has confirmed that starting on May 9th, all new Wiis will include both games plus the Wii MotionPlus for the same $199.99 USD pricetag. Something tells me the Wii MotionPlus definitely represents Nintendo’s original vision for the Wii – it just took them a little while to get there.
- (TheSixthAxis) Sony of Europe is releasing ModNation Racers PS3 and PSP bundles. ModNation Racers is a great little game, and now you can get it with the console or handheld for 315 euro or just over 150 euro, respectively. ModNation Racers supports splitscreen – a rarity these days – plus up to 12 player online multiplayer. Looking for someone to play with? Why not hop on over to the Polygamerous forums and see if you can rustle up a game!
That Gaikai service sounds awfully much like OnLive, I would say… Wel’ll see how that works out when it releases in a couple months.
